RoasterTools Launches “The Coffee Roaster’s Guide to Profitable Holidays”
Coffee roasting business software and tech tools provider RoasterTools has launched a handbook called “The Coffee Roaster’s Guide to Profitable Holidays.” The guide addresses holiday blend development, wholesale account strategies, product bundling and more.
Blk & Bold Launching ‘Recipes for Impact’ Book, Donating Proceeds
Iowa-based coffee roasting company Blk & Bold has launched a new coffee cookbook called Recipes for Impact. The 32-page book is selling for $19.99, and 100% of the proceeds are heading to youth-supportive nonprofits, according to the company.
Winners of the Coffee Association of Canada Excellence Awards
The nonprofit Coffee Association of Canada named the winners of its inaugural “Exemplifying Excellence in the Coffee Community Awards.” Among the winners were: Muna Mohammed of Eight50 Coffee (innovative achievement); Christine Cruz-Clarke of Balzac’s Coffee (small chain – big impact); Michael Forian-Zytynsky and Caitlin McClung (volunteers); and Michael Higgins and Paul Higgins Jr. of Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee (lifetime achievement).
Green Mountain and Kevin Costner Partner for Blend Launch
Keurig Dr Pepper-owned brand Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and American sports movies and Westerns actor Kevin Costner have teamed up to launch a new coffee blend, called Horizon Blend by Kevin Costner. While launching sales of the coffee, the partners donated $100,000 to the nonprofit Root Capital.
The Human Bean Raises $540,000+ for Breast Cancer Foundations
Oregon-based coffee chain The Human Bean held its 18th annual breast cancer fundraiser, generating more than $540,000 from U.S. sales that is heading to organizations addressing the disease.
Metropolis Coffee Among US Brands Launching 84 New Fairtrade Products
Fairtrade America, the United States branch of Fairtrade International, said 84 new products from 16 different brands are for the first time bearing the Fairtrade-certified seal. Among the new products are coffees from Chicago’s Metropolis Coffee Company.
Michael Buck Williams Named National Sales Director at Nguyen Coffee Supply
Brooklyn, New York-based Vietnamese coffee roasting and beverage company Nguyen Coffee Supply has named beverage industry veteran Michael Buck Williams national sales director. Williams was most recently the senior director of sales at packaged water company Richard’s Rainwater.
Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Signs Franchise Agreements in Arizona
Colorado-based coffee chain Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii said it has signed two new multi-unit franchise agreements for the Arizona market. The chain currently has more than 30 franchise locations throughout the U.S.
Warner Brothers Opens Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston
Media giant Warner Brothers opened the new Central Perk Coffeehouse in Boston, which is modeled after the long-running “Friends” show hangout in fictional New York. The opening was delayed due to the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, who was honored during an opening celebration.
Westrock Coffee Company Q3 Earnings Down From 2022
Arkansas-based coffee company Westrock Coffee reported its third quarter results last week, including a sales decrease of $10.7 million compared to the same quarter last year. Adjusted EBITDA was $11.6 million for the third quarter of 2023, a decrease of $6.3 million, compared to the third quarter of 2022.
