Regular cleaning and maintenance of your espresso machine is the key to making delicious barista-quality coffee. Performing a ‘Clean cycle’ will help to prevent the build-up of milk, oil, and excess coffee grounds so that you can create great-tasting coffee every time.
Directions:
1. Insert the one cup filter basket followed by the grey silicone cleaning disc, which was supplied with your machine, into the portafilter. Once inserted, place a cleaning tablet into the centre of the disc.
2. Insert and lock the portafilter into place in the group head. Ensure that the water tank is filled with cold water to the max line, the drip tray is emptied and the machine is turned off.
3. Press the ‘1-cup’ and ‘2-cup’ button simultaneously with the ‘Power’ button for three seconds. The cleaning cycle will now begin and last for approximately five minutes.
4. The machine will beep three times when completed. Remove the portafilter and ensure the tablet has completely dissolved. If the tablet has not dissolved, repeat the steps above until it has done so.
5. Remove the cleaning disc once the cleaning tablet has completely dissolved, then reinsert the portafilter into the group head.
6. Place a small cup or container under the portafilter then press the ‘2-cup’ button to rinse any residue from the cleaning tablet.
