Roasting your own coffee is a labor of love. But if you are interested in see how green coffee beans transform into the aromatic and delicious coffee beans that you can drink, this will be an interesting experience for you.

The first step is to acquire some green coffee beans. You can contact your local coffee house and they may be able to source some for you. You can also buy them online on sites like Amazon.

The first step is to turn on your pan and set it to medium. Then add your green coffee beans. Since roasted cofffee beans are best enjoyed within 2 weeks of roasting, you can decide how much of your beans you want to roast at once. I just did an amount that I tought I would consume over 2 weeks.

You will need to keep stirring and agitating your beans so that they roast evenly. Make sure you are flipping the beans as you stir them. In total, I roasted mine for 37 minutes. However, you may be able to do it faster if you use a higher heat, but just make sure you don’t burn the beans.

After roasting, let them sit outside for at least 12 hrs before storing them so that the carbon dioxide can release. Then wait about 1-2 days before using them to brew coffee. Enjoy!
