I filled the basket as much as possible (in this case, 21g) and adjusted the grind size to be coarser. The first time I set it at 3.3, which didn’t work well, and the second time at 3.6 (using the Varia grinder). Keep in mind that I usually use 18g with a grind size between 2.5 and 3, but this time I went much coarser. My extraction time was 40 seconds. By going even coarser, I could’ve easily brought the time down to somewhere between 22 to 25 seconds. However, at this point, the coffee had such a syrupy, sweet texture with vibrant acidity and fruity, chocolatey notes that I decided not to adjust it any further. My yield was 32.5g, resulting in a ratio of 1:1.54.
