Looking for the best coffee beans to buy from Coles Supermarket? Look no further! In this video, we put 12 bags of medium roast beans to the test to see which ones are worth sipping and which ones are worth skipping. Our blind taste test includes brands that are widely available across Australia’s biggest supermarket, Coles. We looked for sweetness, enjoyable fruit-like acidity, brightness, and no over-the-top harsh bitterness or dry ashy flavours. We also made sure to use the same recipe for each coffee to keep things fair and consistent.

I’d like to make a special mention to my top 5 beans on the day – as while this was a randomised sorting of which beans would go head to head, there appeared a few bags that were eliminated early and I believe would have made for better FINALS.
So my top 5, in order are:
1. Sensory Lab Steadfast
2. Daley St Medium
3. Daley St Organic
4. DC Critical ( as on several more brews, and in lieu of less enjoyable bags, this was alright.)
5. Vittoria Latte ( My favourite coffee that I would use for milk-based drinks. very smooth.= – and is designed exactly for milk-based drinks.)
