Canadian coffeehouse Tim Hortons has appointed Naira Saeed as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), overseeing restaurant and field operations, franchising, and development across Canada.

Saeed, who will succeed Matt Moore, began her career working in capital markets, including at the Bank of Canada, before joining Tim Hortons in 2017 as the brand’s Head of Finance.

In the eight years since, Saeed has led a number of the teams responsible for restaurant operations, franchising, and franchisee profitability.

Saeed will continue to report to and work closely with Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons Canada and US.

Schwan says Saeed is a trusted leader among the company’s restaurant owners who understands the importance of great operations and restaurant profitability.

“I’m very excited to see all her experience come together to excel in this very important role, including the exciting development opportunities we have in many communities across Canada,” he says.

Saeed adds: “I love this brand and the role it plays in Canadian communities and everyday lives of our guests. I’m looking forward to working closely with our restaurant owners to continue to offer the very best of Tim Hortons hospitality coast to coast.”

“I want to thank Matt Moore who is leaving for a new opportunity,” says Schwan. “Matt has worked closely with our field teams and restaurant owners on many fronts, including strengthening operational performance in the important morning and dinner dayparts. We wish him all the best.”
