At a launch event in Tanzania today, the African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA) announced that its flagship conference and expo will take place in Dar es Salaam in 2025.
Happening February 26-28, the 21st African Fine Coffees Conference and Exhibition (AFCC&E) will be hosted in collaboration with the Tanzania Coffee Board.
It will be the fourth time that Tanzania has hosted the event, which has grown to attract more than 2,000 people each year, including roasters, traders, government representatives, NGOs and others throughout the coffee value chain.
The 2025 conference will be centered around the theme of “Value Regeneration.” It will include international and regional speakers, an expansive exhibition hall, workshops, cupping sessions and coffee origin trip opportunities. The event will also feature the African Barista Championship and the Taste of Harvest coffee competition.
“We are excited to bring the African Fine Coffees Conference and Exhibition back to Tanzania, a country with immense coffee potential,” AFCA Board Chair Amir Hamza said in an announcement released by the group today. “This event not only highlights the exceptional quality of African coffee but also strengthens our commitment to fostering growth and collaboration within the industry across the continent.”
Tanzania previously hosted the event in 2011, 2016 and 2019. The 20th AFCC&E took place last year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
