Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) has announced the date of its annual B2B event, which will take place at Tokyo Big Sight on 9 October 2024.

The Association’s 19th exhibition, the event aims to gather coffee producing regions and countries based in Central and South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, as well as coffee-related industries.

“With the theme of ‘Let’s go full throttle into a new decade’, we are taking our next step into a brand-new decade with SCAJ 2024,” says Katsuhiko Hasegawa Exhibition & Conference Committee Chair of Specialty Coffee Association of Japan.

“Even though there are quite a few issues out there, such as currency exchange, global coffee market price, labour shortage, climate change, with the introduction of AI and the development of automation and digitalisation, let’s look forward to the bright future of the specialty coffee industry.”

The event will focus on specialty coffee and expects to accommodate approximately 350 companies and 70,000 attendees over the four-day event.

“Like every year, we would like to make it a meaningful four-day event, delivering the latest news/information about the specialty coffee industry, showing off the wonderfulness and diversity of specialty coffee, as well as offering new opportunities,” says Hasegawa.

Founded in 2003, SCAJ aims to raise awareness of specialty coffee in the Japanese coffee market. In its commitment to promoting the industry, the Association provides educational activities, qualification certifications, and research. It also hosts national coffee championships and exhibitions each year.
