Peter Therman, an executive from the Finnish beverage brand Hartwall, has been elected to the board of the Swedish-based coffee roastery Löfbergs.

“I am very pleased to welcome Peter to our board. He brings extensive knowledge of family businesses, investments, and international trade, which is particularly valuable to us,” says Kathrine Löfberg, Chair of the Board.

“We are strongly focused on expanding our business beyond Sweden while also making significant investments in our roastery in Karlstad.”

“Löfbergs is a highly interesting company with a strong set of values among its owners, a successful history, and a well-established brand. This provides a solid foundation for further growth, particularly in international markets,” says Therman.

In a statement, Löfbergs said Therman’s experience transforming Hartwall from a brewery into an investment firm has provided him with expertise in analysis, change management, investments, and strategic processes.

He also holds several positions in the business sector, including Vice Chair of Hartwall Capital and Chair of Helkama Auto, which serves as the general agent for Škoda and Avis car rental in Finland. He is also an advisor to family businesses, supporting them in ownership strategies, succession planning, and other challenges associated with running a family-owned company.

Löfbergs was founded in 1906 in Karlstad and is now one of the largest family-owned coffee roasteries in the Nordics. The company began exporting coffee in 1993 and today sells every second cup outside Sweden. Löfbergs has subsidiaries in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom.
