Coffee roaster Ona Coffee will collaborate with Butterboy, Vitasoy, and Grada Coffee at its Sydney café on 16 August to raise funds for CafeSmart.

StreetSmart’s annual CafeSmart campaign unites roasters, cafés, and coffee enthusiasts around the country to combat homelessness and support those at risk in their local area.

“As the number of people struggling to make ends meet and living below the poverty line remains high, the importance of community support has never been greater. This collaboration event is a powerful example of how the hospitality industry can come together to drive positive social change. Grab a treat at Ona and make a tangible difference in the fight against homelessness. It’s a win-win,” says Liz Bayrak, Community Campaigns and Events Coordinator at StreetSmart Australia.

Visitors to Ona Coffee on 16 August can try the exclusive CafeSmart Sunny Delight mocktail, made with Vitasoy Oat Milk, Ona Raspberry Candy espresso, passionfruit puree, pineapple, and honey, and tuck into Butterboy’s CafeSmart Lemon Cheesecake Cookie.

Coffee lovers can also purchase tickets to attend an after-hours cupping event to taste a range of unique coffees selected from Ona’s freezer vault. Grada Coffee will supply three of its coffee spirits as prizes, including its International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) Gold Winner.

“This collaborative event is all about bringing the community together to make a difference. We’re thrilled to be working alongside such wonderful partners to support CafeSmart and help bring change in the lives of those who need it the most,” says Bora Jin , Ona Coffee Sydney Venue Manager.

Vitasoy and Ona will donate $1 for every coffee sold and $5 for every mocktail sold on the day. Butterboy will also donate 100 per cent of its proceeds from its limited-release cookie sales. Ticket sales from the coffee cupping event will also go towards the cause.

In conjunction with StreetSmart, CafeSmart aims to help drive the Australian coffee industry to raise funds and awareness for local homelessness projects. According to the organisation, it has distributed nearly $2 million to over 1,000 community projects across the country.
