Canberra-based roaster Ona Coffee will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a series of celebratory events across the country.
Each all-day event, located at an Ona Coffee venue, will include prize giveaways, baked goods, tastings of filter coffees and free servings of all their house blends.
The celebrations will take place at 6pm in the following cities:
Canberra – Wednesday 25 October at Ona Coffee House Cafe in Fyshwick.
Sydney – Friday 27 October at Ona Sydney in Marrickville.
Melbourne – Thursday 2 November at Ona Melbourne in Brunswick.
“We are excited to commemorate our anniversary by celebrating what we love most: creating innovations and sharing our knowledge with as many people as possible,” says Ona Coffee Founder Saša Šestić.
Among the house blends will be the iconic Raspberry Candy; a blend inspired by the coffee used by Saša to win the 2015 World Barista Championship.
In the afternoon of each event, Saša will give a special presentation on his recent research into aroma volatile compounds and coffee terroir.
His findings, through a collaboration with Coffee Excellence Centre Professor Chahan Yeretzian, have helped elevate aroma volatile compounds in coffee via fermentation and the extract chilling technique by using paragon brewer.
Each celebration will also include a carnival party, including live music, food and drink, and games and prizes for all attendees.
“We wouldn’t be where we are today were it not for the partnerships and friendships we have across the world, from the coffee producers we source from, to our wholesale partners and the new relationships we’ve established,” says Saša.
“This anniversary is an opportunity for us to say thank you and express our appreciation to them, and to the everyday coffee drinkers who allow us to do what we love every day.”
