Food and beverage ingredient company Olam Food Ingredients (ofi)’s sustainability management system, AtSource, has been recognised as an equivalent scheme to the Sustainability Agriculture Initiative (SAI) Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment – FSA Version 3.0.

The SAI Platform’s Farm Sustainability Assessment FSA 3.0 provides a framework to assess, improve, and validate on-farm sustainability in agricultural supply chains.

Following the benchmarking results, the AtSource system has achieved FSA Gold level equivalent for the AtSource+ tier. This is said to be the highest-level recognition and confirming best-in-class sustainable practices for farms in AtSource+ supply chains.

Additionally, the AtSource system has achieved FSA Silver level equivalent for the AtSourceV tier, confirming farms are meeting a defined standard of responsible agricultural practices. This includes good environmental stewardship, respect for labor rights, and safe working conditions.

For farmers, the benchmark against a globally recognised framework like the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) gives extra validity to their efforts, whilst also reducing the audit burden on them,” says Joe Iveson, FSA Manager, SAI Platform.

“For ofis customers and end consumers, the benchmark serves to showcase the company’s commitments and progress towards more sustainable value chains.”

Katherin Ibarra, Sustainability Manager of AtSource at ofi, says theFSA equivalence helps customers to meet their sustainable sourcing programs’ targets when purchasing AtSource products.

“Our engagement and continuous work with SAI Platform through FSA and other programs reflect our ambition to scaling up sustainability impact through partnership, working towards a harmonised industry approach on sustainable and resilient agricultural systems,” she says.

AtSource is a sustainability management system for sustainable products and supply chains that helps food, beverage and ingredient customers optimise the sustainability performance of their supply chains with actionable data.
