The New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association (NZSCA) is hosting a free online workshop for all registered competitors of the regional Aotearoa New Zealand Barista Championships who sign up by 12 February.

The workshop will take place on Thursday 15 February from 5pm to 7pm. It is for competing baristas, coaches, and judges. Guests will understand how the regional rules work and extract the best out of their competition experience.

The workshop is a rules-based lecture and PowerPoint presentation with questions and answers. Guests can ask any questions, meet others involved, and best prepare competitors for presenting their coffee.

As part of the workshop, the NZSCA will send out a pre-test to get competitors thinking about the rules.

The regional competitions will take place on 3 March at Havana HQ in Auckland, 10 March at C4 Coffee Roasters in Ōtautahi, Christchurch and 17 March at Mojo Featherston in Te Whanganui a Tara, Wellington.

The event’s principle sponsor is Meadow Fresh. Other confirmed competition sponsors include La Marzocco, Cafetto, Victoria Arduino, Milklab, Monin and more.
