Beloved Miami specialty coffee company Panther Coffee is making its first major New York City showing with the opening of a popup shop in Soho.
With a soft opening scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1, and a grand opening party two days later, Panther Coffee is temporarily opening inside the Shopify building at 131 Greene Street.
The Feb. 3 celebration will include a latte art competition produced by coffee events and catering agency ESOM, including $2,000 in prizes, DJs, drinks and bites.
“When we first started Panther Coffee in 2010 in Miami, some of our first wholesale roasting was for friends and clients in NYC,” Panther Coffee Founders Leticia and Joel Pollock said in an announcement of the popup. “For that reason being in New York sharing our coffee feels almost like a homecoming to us. We could not be more excited and proud to open a shop in New York City.”
Housed in a multipurpose space within the Shopify building, the popup is designed to also highlight the e-commerce company’s services for small businesses. Panther’s current webstore is powered by Shopify.
The temporary cafe will include a range of espresso beverages as well as individual pourovers, showcasing numerous coffees sourced by Panther through long-running relationships with coffee producers.
The popup’s public hours are currently scheduled from Tuesdays through Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
