Indian coffee chain Nothing Before Coffee (NBC) has marked a significant milestone with the opening of its 50th café. The new venue, located in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi, is the company’s 25th launch of the 2023-2024 financial year.

Friends Akshay Kedia, Anand Jain, Ankesh Jain, and Shubham Bhandari established the chain in 2017. Since then, NBC has opened cafés in 26 cities across India. A collaboration with end-to-end lending franchise Building Brands for Tomorrow will see the brand rapidly expand its roll out of venues over the next few years.

“As we embark on this monumental milestone, we are filled with gratitude for the unwavering support from our cherished patrons. The launch of our 50th outlet is not just a numerical achievement: it’s a testament to our commitment to crafting exceptional coffee experiences,” says Akshay Kedia, Co-founder and CMO of NBC.

“Our vision is to become the household name for coffee and beverage cafes in Tier 1 & Tier 2 cities of India and beyond, offering a convenient and delicious coffee experience. We believe in the power of coffee to bring people together, and we’re excited to share that with our customers.”

Rohit Singh, Founder of Building Brands for Tomorrow, says the Indian coffee market is experiencing a significant demand for reasonably priced coffee, with very few brands catering to this segment on a nationwide scale.

“It fills me with great joy and pride to witness and support NBC’s transformation from nonexistence to prominence. Moving forward, the aim is to expand and enhance NBC’s presence across the entire Indian landscape,” Singh says.

The new café in Malviya Nagar covers about 150 to 180 square metres, and offers a vast range of beverages with more than 100 items on its drinks menu. Part of the brand’s core values is offering 100 per cent vegetarian options, which is reflected in the food menu. However, NBC’s main focus remains creating “an exceptional coffee experience”.
