France-based manufacturer Groupe SEB has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum rating, the highest rating in existence, placing it in the top one per cent of companies assessed.
Its EcoVadis score was 78/100 points, more than 30 points above the average of companies assessed in its sector. The rating covers all consumer and professional brands of the group. SEB Professional, as a part of Groupe SEB, is encompassed within this rating with its professional coffee brands including WMF, Schaerer, and Curtis.
“This assessment is the culmination of all the efforts made in terms of social and environmental responsibilities in our activities and supply chain,” says Juliette Sicot-Crevet, Sustainable Development Director of Groupe SEB.
The rating is based not only on sustainable practices in the field of environmental stewardship, but also in those of social responsibility and ethical business practices – from ethical standards to procurement and customer engagement.
The EcoVadis sustainability rating is one of the world’s largest global corporate social responsibility performance assessment platforms, providing ratings for companies based on their sustainable practices across four pillars: environment, social and human rights, ethics, and responsible purchasing.
EcoVadis evaluates over 100,000 companies in 200 industries and more than 175 countries. According to Groupe SEB, the increasing market relevance of the EcoVadis sustainability rating shows that there is a growing awareness of and demand for documentation of progress in the field of sustainability.
