Fancy A Tube Of Coffee?

Coffee loves a good tube in all its many forms and meanings. There’s the AeroPress, which is nothing if not tubular. Then there’s YouTube, which has a bustling coffee section full of gear guides, tips and tricks, and personalities galore. But there’s a new type of tube coffee vying for the coffee tube market share. It’s coffee in a paste form, held in a toothpaste-like tube.

As reported by New Atlas, the new coffee paste is called No Normal, and it is meant to be an option for those outdoor excursions or anywhere else you want to pack light. The Swiss startup launched their first product at last week’s Outdoor by ISPO show in Munich, Germany, where it took home an ISPO Award.

Per the brand’s website, the coffee concentrate is made of 100% Arabica coffee from Colombia that gets dark-roasted and lightly sweetened, having notes of “chocolate, nuts, and a little caramel.” Each 100g tube contains 20 servings, that get made by mixing the paste with hot water (or cold water, but I can’t imagine it homogenizes as easily).

And No Normal claims you can forgo the water entirely. You can eat it directly out of the tube if so desired. They also suggest you could spread it on a piece of toast or maybe even a banana, which doesn’t sound half bad honestly. There hasn’t been any word on if they plan on releasing a coffee paste at different roast levels.

But for now, you can grab a 100g (3.5oz) tube of No Normal coffee via their website for $18. For all your extreme coffee needs. Now to figure out how to form the coffee tube triumvirate. Maybe James Hoffmann can make a video where he make coffee using No Normal in an AeroPress. This would be the pinnacle of coffee tube content.
