Italian espresso machine brand Astoria provided a first look at a new commercial model called the AB200 at last month’s World of Coffee trade show in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Slated for official release in the beginning of 2025, the AB200 espresso machines will come in one-, two- or three-group configurations, plus an extra-compact two-group version. The company has not yet announced pricing.

Standing 19.2 inches tall, the AB200 includes shot timers in each group, a drip tray with adjustable height, lever-activated steam wands and Astoria’s latest custom portafilter design.

The machines will be sold with an option for a 3.5-inch touchscreen, and all machines include Astoria’s “Autosteamer” features, offering hands-free programmable temperature and froth levels of milk.

Removable side panels are designed for quick access to parts, and the machine’s retro-futuristic aesthetic came through a collaboration with Valerio Cometti of the Milan-based firm Studio V12 Design.

“Valerio Cometti and V12 Design aimed to explore the concept of ‘form follows function’ to its limits,” an Astoria representative told Daily Coffee News. “They have done extensive research in the world of motor racing, boating and aeronautics — sectors that demand a synthesis of functional and aesthetic aspects, without compromise.”

Alongside an AB200 at the World of Coffee Event was another new product from Astoria, a commercial espresso called the ASI40 Touch.

The 65-millimeter flat-burr commercial espresso grinder includes a 3.5-inch touchscreen control panel, a 1.2-kilogram-capacity hopper and an LED-illuminated receptacle.

An adjustable cooling fan and forced air vents on the base are designed to keep interior components cool when the machine is in heavy use.

The new machine follows Astoria’s rollout last year of the Plus4You single-boiler commercial espresso machine, which the company also had on display in Copenhagen.
