Green coffee trading company Ally Coffee last month launched the first episodes in its new podcast called “Rooted in Coffee.”
Exploring some of the most challenging issues facing the coffee industry while always maintaining a producer-centric approach — hence the “rooted” — the podcast is part of the green coffee company’s Ally Open, a specialty-focused platform offering small-volume orders and education programming.
The English-language podcast is being hosted by Ally Creative Projects Manager Nick Castellano and Chief Operating Officer Ricardo Pereira. Episodes feature expert guests who explore specific topics or themes.
Among the first batch of episodes was a conversation with revered coffee roasting professional Trish Rothgeb of Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters called “Beyond Third Wave.” Another episode features Specialty Coffee Association CEO Yannis Apostolopoulos discussing “The Future of Specialty Coffee.”
Upcoming guests will include: Diego Campos, the 2021 World Barista Champion; Anne Cooper, the head of the Australian roasting consultancy Equilibrium; and Bram De Hoog, the former specialty coffee sourcing director for Ally.
Episodes of the “Rooted in Coffee” podcast are currently available on YouTube and Spotify.
