United States (US) specialty coffee retailer Reborn Coffee has announced a joint venture with Gaingan Humantech Co. to open three Reborn Coffee locations in Bangkok, Thailand.

The venture aims to grow the presence of Reborn Coffee’s “fourth-wave coffee products” across Thailand. The flagship store will be located at One Bangkok, a mixed-use development in the city centre featuring a variety of office towers, luxury hotels, residences, and retail precincts of over 450 stores.

“Gaingan Humantech Co. will lead Reborn Coffee’s expansion throughout Thailand,” says CEO Jay Kim.

“By fostering a vibrant local coffee culture, Reborn Coffee and our joint venture partners will innovate in coffee, tea brewing, and specialty bakery offerings. We are setting a new standard for premium beverages and artisanal products in Thailand while positioning ourselves as a leader in Southeast Asia’s thriving coffee market.”

Thailand’s coffee market has expanded rapidly, with coffee consumption increasing by more than 20 per cent in the last five years according to a statement from Reborn Coffee. The US roaster says it is entering the market at a strategic moment, as the demand for premium coffee is rising among Thailand’s younger urban population and Southeast Asia is emerging as a major hub for coffee culture.

The brand reports that coffee consumption across the region is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.2 per cent through 2025. Furthermore, Southeast Asia’s coffee market is projected to be worth over $6 billion by the same year.
