With International Coffee Day 2024 taking place on 1 October, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) is making collaboration the central theme of this year’s celebration.

The ICO hopes the annual event will serve as a reminder that coffee is the result of extensive collaboration between countless stakeholders across the global coffee value chain. The organisation has selected the theme to emphasise the importance of embracing collaboration for collective action and its role in achieving sustainable development in the global coffee sector.

“The ICO’s campaign for International Coffee Day 2024 advocates for a united approach in fostering a more sustainable and equitable coffee sector. Collaboration, from farm to cup, is essential to the ICO goal of promoting sustainability, supporting coffee farmers, nurturing a balanced market, and ensuring the satisfaction of conscientious consumers,” says Vanúsia Nogueira, Executive Director of the ICO.

“We invite you to join us on 1 October in recognising the power of collaboration in driving positive change across the industry.”

The International Coffee Day website has been relaunched to reflect the new slogan ‘Coffee: your daily ritual, our shared journey’. It features a comprehensive overview of this year’s campaign and offers a broad range of assets including videos, posters, and  postcards, available in various languages.

The ICO invites all coffee sector stakeholders to share the assets and use the hashtags #ICD2024 and #EmbraceCollaboration.
