One of the most interesting trends in coffee has nothing to do with gear, or experimental processing, or elaborate competitions, and everything to do with cultural expression. Coffee is, of course, cultivated and enjoyed by a global coterie of cultures, and no two expressions of coffee look the same around the world. Here in America we’ve enjoyed an explosion in cafes expressing distinct coffee cultures through the lens of third wave, drawing on inspiration from places like Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Turkey, Yemen, Colombia, to name just a few. An uptick in cafes inspired by the coffee cultures of Indonesia is another exciting development—and such is the story at Coffeegraph, a new coffee bar in Denver. Let’s learn more.
