Twenty-seven of Starbucks’ most talented baristas took part in the Asia Pacific Regional Barista and Latte Art Championships, which took place in Hong Kong for the first time since 2016.

On 14 June, Starbucks baristas from 14 markets showcased their coffee expertise, creativity, and dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences at the finals of the coffee roaster’s Regional Barista and Latte Art competitions.

“Baristas are the heart of Starbucks, and this event is the platform where they can truly shine and demonstrate their coffee knowledge and innovation on the grand stage,” says Emmy Kan, Senior Vice President and President, Starbucks Asia Pacific.

“I am incredibly proud of our partners and their relentless pursuit of the limitless possibilities of world-class coffee experiences. And I am grateful to every one of them for their strong commitment and dedication to coffee, craft, and the Starbucks brand.”

In its eighth year, the Asia Pacific Regional Barista Championships celebrates the coffee passion, craft, and expertise of Starbucks partners in the region. This year’s competition in Hong Kong took place over four days and, alongside the championships, featured partner-led workshops and immersive experiences.

Nobuki of Starbucks Japan was crowned the champion of this year’s Barista event.

“I am honoured to be named this year’s Regional Barista Champion,” says Nobuki.

“There was so much talent and heart on stage today, representing the best of Starbucks in all of Asia Pacific. I can’t thank my partners in Japan enough for all of the strong support, encouragement, and months of training that led to this amazing opportunity.”
