Restaurant Brands International (RBI) has announced former Tim Hortons Brand President Sami Siddiqui as its CFO, amid a series of leadership changes within the company.

Siddiqui has worked with RBI, the parent company of Tim Hortons, for 11 years. He has spent the last eight years as Popeyes Brand President in Miami.

Siddiqui served as Executive Vice President of Tim Hortons from April 2015 to September 2016, and later President of Tim Hortons from September 2016 to September 2018.

“Sami has deep finance and operational experience, which makes him a great partner to our Presidents as we deliver on our growth plans across the company,” says RBI CEO Josh Kobza.

Prior to joining RBI, Siddiqui worked at investment management company Blackstone, and acquired an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Siddiqui will succeed Matt Dunnigan, who will leave the company.

“Matt secured a strong capital structure and developed a balanced capital allocation framework that now supports the investments you have been seeing us make in our brands,” Kobza says.

RBI owns four of the world’s most prominent quick service restaurant brands: Tim Hortons, Burger King, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs.
