Burundi-focused green coffee trading company JNP Coffee has added longtime coffee professional Gerra Harrigan as director of sales and strategy.
A former trader for importer InterAmerican Coffee and past vice president of sales for Rhode Island-based New Harvest Coffee Roasters, Harrigan most recently served as sales director for impact-driven coffee importer Mighty Peace Coffee.
Harrigan is currently based in Sharon, Massachusetts, about an hour’s drive from JNP’s United States home base in Shrewsbury, outside Worcester. The green coffee company also maintains operations in Bujumbura, Burundi, and Berlin, Germany.
“She values our mission and brings to us her strategic acumen and depth of knowledge of coffee and its key players,” JNP Coffee Founder Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian said in an announcement of Harrigan’s appointment. “Her contributions will enable our team to boost our growth and do more with the farmers from my home country.”
Since its inception in 2012, JNP has been intently focused on supporting the Burundi specialty coffee sector, with a particular emphasis on lifting up women involved in coffee production.
