Roaster Cloud Picker is Offering a Golden Ticket to Dublin

Anyone drinking a carefully sourced and expertly roasted specialty-grade coffee has ample reason to thank their lucky stars. Yet one coffee drinker will soon be thanking their lucky clouds for a golden ticket to Dublin, Ireland, courtesy of Irish roasting company Cloud Picker.

In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Dublin roaster’s new prize campaign starts with fulfillment of wholesale roasted coffee orders (minimum 5 kilos of indiviually packaged 250-gram boxes) to coffee shops throughout Europe and the United States.

Within those markets, one package of Cloud Picker coffee sold to consumers will reveal a golden ticket that will grant airfare, accommodations and a full itinerary for two people for two nights in Dublin. The shop that sells the winning-ticket package will be given Cloud Picker credit for their next wholesale purchase.

To qualify, wholesale orders must be received by March 31. Minimum orders are five kilograms (20 250-gram packages). Cloud Picker is providing participating shops with promotional materials tied to the contest, with the goal of driving more consumer sales. 

“This lucky find promises the ultimate Irish experience for two, including flights, accommodation at the chic Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, a bespoke coffee roasting course and a behind-the-scenes roastery tour from Cloud Picker,” the company said in an announcement of the prize program.

The winner will also be given a private tour and tasting at the Teeling distillery. Cloud Picker Marketing and Sales Director Dustin Khan told DCN that the company is also working to arrange an experience at the Guinness factory.

Founded by Frank Kavanagh and Peter Sztal in 2013, Cloud Picker currently operates a Dublin roastery as well as a Dublin City brick-and-mortar cafe. The company recently expanded its own footprint with the opening of a bar at the Dublin airport. According to Khan, the U.S. remains one of the roaster’s leading wholesale destinations.

Its current wholesale offerings include three blends (named Sam, Henry and Formation), seven caffeinated single-origin coffees (including two recommended for espresso and five for filter), and two decaf single-origin coffees.
