Ten New Coffee Shops in the American Southwest (Mostly Texas)

It was a Texas-heavy year for Daily Coffee News’ coverage of new cafe openings in the Southwestern United States. Under the light of the lone star, a diverse group of new coffee faces was illuminated.

Some shops offered close connections to coffee producers in Ethiopia, Nicaragua and Yemen; a Germany-born chain took its first steps into the U.S.; and, in Houston, a man from Korea created a coffee-focused portal to Italy, to name just a few.

Lemma Coffee Founder Daniel Baum described the newest location, the former XO Coffee shop in downtown Plano, as a “dream coffee shop” for its interior core and its prominent place among other neighborhood businesses.
